The short version
WaivrWire is a set of free fantasy sports tools. Most of them need nothing from you at all: the depth charts, lineups and usage pages are public data, and you can read every one of them without signing in, without a cookie, and without typing anything.
Three things change that, and only if you choose them. Signing in with Google gives us your Google account's email and name. Creating a Draft Scheduler event, or a sealed draft order or lottery, stores what you entered on our servers so it can be shared by link. And the Play Log keeps your roster in your own browser unless you sign in and ask us to sync it.
We don't sell your data, and we don't run ads.
Signing in
Sign-in is optional and exists for one reason: to sync your Play Log roster across your devices. If you use it, Google tells us your account identifier, email address, name and profile picture URL. We keep those in a signed cookie (ww_session) that expires after 30 days, and we use your account identifier as the key your synced data is stored under.
We don't email you, and there is no mailing list. Signing out clears the cookie; ask us and we'll delete the stored data behind it.
What we store on our servers
Draft Scheduler events. When you create one, we store the league name, how many people you expect, any manager names you entered, the candidate times, and the timezone you created it in. When someone responds, we store the name they typed and the times they picked. Anyone with the link can see all of it — that is the point of the tool, so treat the link as the access control it is.
Sealed draft orders and lotteries. We store the league name, the manager names you entered, the generated order, and the time you scheduled the reveal for. Sealed results are withheld by the server until that time passes.
Play Log sync. Only if you are signed in and turn it on. We store the roster and league connections you saved, keyed to your Google account identifier.
Nothing else. The depth chart, lineup, target share, backfield and line-combo tools are read-only public data. Reading them stores nothing about you.
What stays on your device
Your browser's local storage holds a few things we never receive: your Play Log roster (until and unless you sync it), a cached copy of player data to avoid re-fetching it, your sound preference, which site-wide notice you have already seen, and whether you collapsed the sidebar. Clearing your browser data removes all of it.
The Share button on each tool hands the page link to your own operating system's share sheet or clipboard. Nothing about it reaches us.
Cookies
We set no advertising or tracking cookies. The only cookies are functional: ww_session after you sign in, and a short-lived state cookie during the sign-in redirect to prevent request forgery.
Analytics
We currently run no analytics, no tag manager and no third-party tracking scripts. If that changes, we will say so here before it does.
Other companies your browser contacts
Player headshots and team logos load directly from ESPN, the NHL and MLB rather than from us. Your browser requests those images itself, which means those companies can see your IP address, your browser, and which page you were on. We have no control over what they do with that, and their own privacy policies govern it.
Signing in sends you to Google, and importing an ESPN league in the Play Log contacts ESPN from your browser. Both happen only when you start them.
On our side, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, request, timestamp) for reliability and abuse prevention, our database provider stores the records described above, and we fetch public sports data from the MLB, NHL and Sleeper APIs — those requests come from our servers, not from you.
How long we keep things
A Draft Scheduler event stops being readable a few hours after its last candidate time, and sealed draws stay available so you can revisit the result. We do not currently delete these records automatically once they expire, so if you want an event, a draw or your synced Play Log data removed, email us and we will delete it.
Your choices
You can use almost every tool without giving us anything. You can sign out at any time, clear your browser storage to wipe the local side, and ask us to delete anything stored under your account or any event or draw you created. If you are somewhere with a legal right to access, correct or delete your data, write to us and we will honour it.
Children's privacy
WaivrWire is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves. When we do, we'll revise the effective date above, and material changes will be described on this page.
